If you want excellent middle eastern, Dont go to La Shish. Its a chain, and pretty generic. For fantastic middle eastern food there are a couple of places. One is on 16 and Dequindre called Al Ameer(they may have changed the name to Meers) It really sits on Dequindre just north of 16 on the east side of the street.
Another is IKES family dining. This is located on Van Dyke just north of 17 mile, on the east confront. It is in the Burlington Coat Factory Plaza. It doesnt look like much, but food is fantastic, and cheap.
One more is Kabob House on Van Dyke just south of 12 mile on the west side of the street. It is located in a tiny small strip mall, and again doesnt look like much from the outside, but is very excellent and reasonably priced.
I agree, Ike’s is fantastic! Better food than la Shish and way cheaper! Their kibbe naye is incredible! There is also a place on Garfield in Clinton Twp called Briggettes or something like that, it’s also very excellent.

I would have been inclined to say La Shish, but the owner is a terrorist and the “lamb” is really cat.
