    They served as nurses and cooks. Some would help reload rifles on the front line.

    If women weren’t involved with the civil war, the outcome would have likely been the same. It’s not that women did incredible things during the war because of the fact that they were women, but some people who had significant roles in the war were women.

    Molly Pitcher was from the Revolutionary War, not Civil War, btw.
